Virginia College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award certificates, diplomas, associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees.

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Virginia College is currently authorized to operate campuses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The College's online programs are approved in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming and are available in other states where no formal approval is required. The College will continue to monitor developments in state law in each state in which it enroll students. If authorization of licensure is or becomes necessary, Virginia College will obtain such additional approvals.
