With our new 48-credit hour Medical Assistant diploma/certificate program, you can get to your new medical career faster—by completing your training in less than a year.
As a multi-skilled medical assistant graduate, you will work with, and under and the direction of, a physician in the clinical and administrative aspects of the physician's office or other medical setting. You will be trained to be the second set of hands and another set of eyes that help to facilitate examining room procedures, obtain vital signs and medical histories, perform routine laboratory procedures, sterilize and maintain equipment and perform the proper techniques for administering medications and immunizations, combined with administrative functions and duties.
Qualified graduates may be eligible to sit for one or both of the following certifications: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
Medical assistants are needed in many healthcare settings to perform both administrative and clinical duties. Medical Assistants may report directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner.
We prepare our medical assistant students to be an integral part of the medical field, which is why our students will complete a supervised externship in a physician's office, clinic or related healthcare facility—a unique feature of this program.
