Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in partnership with the Green Resource Center for Alabama (GRCA) will host a Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast to benefit the GRCA's mission of promoting sustainable social, economic and environmental practices.  Breakfast will be served at the Regions Center Plaza in downtown Birmingham on Friday, May 15 from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m.

WHAT: A Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, Drive-thru or Walk-up
WHERE: Regions Center Plaza, 5th Avenue North at 20th Street
WHEN: Friday, May 15th from 7 -- 9:30 a.m.

The GRCA is a non-profit organization that provides resources and information to homeowners and businesses seeking to live and work in an environmentally friendly matter.  Its mission is to enlighten and educate the public, industry professionals and policy makers about design, construction and maintenance practices for environmentally sustainable living.

"We are proud to promote green living in Birmingham through our partnership with the Green Resource Center," says Chef Antony Osborne, Dean of Culinard at Virginia College.  "We make an overall effort at Culinard and Virginia College to follow the Green Resource Center's mission, and it is a major priority for our corporate management at Education Corporation of America.  This breakfast is a fun way to inspire the people of Birmingham to take action and reduce our environmental impact."

Osborne will lead Culinard students in the preparation of freshly cooked eggs and ham wrapped in spinach tortillas.  The breakfast wraps, which will not require any plates or cutlery, will be served with coffee from the Crestwood Coffee Company and cost only $10.

In addition, chair massages by the Virginia College massage therapy students will also be available for $5, and health-screening services will be provided free-of-charge by the medical assisting students and staff from Virginia College.

Patrons will also enjoy music by Tom Dameron and the Pineapple Skinners and a special appearance from Cat in the Hat.
