Virginia College Huntsville 'Plays Games' With Learning

Posted: Wednesday, March 17, 2010

The medical classrooms at the Huntsville, Alabama, campus of Virginia College were recently transformed into the VCH Game Room as medical instructors Zonia Likkel and Barbara Tysen along with Rebecca Croom, the Academic Advisor for medical programs hosted a fun evening designed to make learning even more fun. The games included Scrabble, "Organ Toss," Connect Five, War and Go-Fish. In order to win prizes, students spelled medical terms, named human organs, found abbreviations, snacked, laughed and learned. "VCH bucks" were won and at the end of the evening the students were able to cash in their winnings for prizes including medical dictionaries, pen lights, a blood pressure cuff, and Virginia College merchandise from www.proforma.com/virginiacollege.
