(SPOILER ALERT: if you do not want to know how episode 6 of HGTV's "Design Star" turned out, do not read farther!)

Jason Champion made the top five in HGTV's national cable TV competition "Design Star," but ran into tough times as he and his fellow contestants were called upon to design a child's room...based on the kids' direction!  Champion, a graduate of Virginia College's Interior Design program at the Birmingham, Alabama, campus, has had a rough road to the top five, ending up in the bottom two of the judges' picks twice.

Week 6, though, proved his undoing, and he was voted off the show.  The photo shows his design.


Jason was not fazed.  "I'm disappointed," he told the nationwide TV audience.  "But you have not seen the last of me."

Indeed, plans are in the works to allow students, staff, and the community of Birmingham to meet their "design star," possibly as part of the grand opening of the school's new Interior Design and Computer Aided Drafting classrooms and labs at the Palisades campus.  Check this space for details.
