Virginia College Huntsville Fund Raiser for United Way a Sweet Success

On February 11th the PASS IT ON student organization at Virginia College in Huntsville held a fundraiser to benefit United Way. The "Send a Sweet to Your Sweet" project allowed students to send a Valentine note to a friend or sweetheart along with a cupcake, candy bag, cookie bundle or even an Orange Crush. All gifts were delivered in class so the recipient received special attention. Baskets were also auctioned to the highest bidder and the themed creations included "Dinner and a Movie", "Beauty Makeover", "Spa Day", "Sweetheart Bear", "Wild Birds" and more. Their hard work resulted in $1,135 being raised for United Way.
The PASS IT ON student organization is new but passionate in their efforts to provide support and service to the community. The name of the organization developed from the student's desire to "pass on" the principles learned in the Virginia College EDU1010 Learning Frameworks course. They chose the United Way as a recipient of this fundraiser because of its goal to create long-lasting changes in the lives of the community.
The PASS IT ON Organization along with the United Way asks us all to give, advocate, volunteer and most importantly, LIVE UNITED.
