All that cheering and clapping you hear from the general direction of Macon, Georgia, is in response to the enrollment of the first student at the new Virginia College location in that Central Georgia city. Sherman Pitts enrolled in the school's Administrative Office Management program to begin classes October 4 at the new facility.
"We are pleased that Sherman has decided to pursue his new career with our AOM program here at Virginia College," says campus president David Murray. The school has not yet begun its marketing efforts but has already attracted considerable interest in its academic offerings after news of the new school appeared in several media outlets. The school's staff has also been busily presenting to various groups in the area, telling the story of transformation through education and of the college's unique brand of practical, hands-on education.
Virginia College in Macon will officially begin enrolling students at temporary offices on Eisenhower Parkway after the July 4 holiday. Construction is underway for the permanent campus admissions, academic, and financial aid offices, labs and classrooms just off Eisenhower Parkway near Colonial Mall and should be ready for classes to begin in October.
