CareerCast, an online career database, recently ranked 200 jobs based on level of stress. Among the top 10 least stressful jobs are hairstylist, pharmacy technician, and medical records technician.
These jobs have more in common than sharing a spot on this exclusive list. Students can receive training to pursue each career at Virginia College. Keep reading to learn more about these low-stress career fields.
Hairstylist was ranked number three on CareerCast’s list. Hairstylists are able to be creative and help others by improving their clients’ self-esteem. They are often outgoing and enjoy interacting with people. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*, the projected growth of this occupation is 10 percent by 2024.
Medical Records Technician
Medical records and health information technician jobs, number six on CareerCast’s list, are expected to grow 15 percent by 2024. Many medical records technicians work as medical coders. This type of career best suits those who are detail-oriented and enjoy complex administrative duties.
Number nine on the least-stressful job list is pharmacy technician. Pharmacy techs work under licensed pharmacists to help customers and communicate with doctors’ offices. This field is expected to grow by 9 percent by 2024.
