Virginia College Hosts Holiday Fest with Santa

Virginia College Holiday Fest

Virginia College campuses kicked off the holiday season by hosting Holiday Fest with Santa events. The events were open to students, families and community members to celebrate with refreshments, family-friendly activities, giveaways and more.

Activities varied from campus to campus, but hey all had one thing in common — a visit from Santa! Virginia College students and families were able to take their photos with Santa and share their Christmas lists with him.

Virginia College in Baton Rouge celebrated with refreshments, a tacky sweater contest, crafts and giveaways. Attendees also wrote thank you notes to military troops in partnership with Operation Gratitude.

“One of the things we wanted to do in our community of students, as well as the Baton Rouge community, was to share some letters of gratitude to them for their time spent over there and what they’re doing for us,” Virginia College in Baton Rouge Director of Admissions Betina Yurkus told WVLA NBC News 33. “We want them to know we have not forgotten, and we look forward to our troops receiving them.”
